Weekend Basketball Roundup

It was Ft Madison all over Fairfield Friday night in Girls Basketball, 55-19. The Bloodhounds were led in by Dayonna Davis who had 20 pts 8 boards and 4 steals on the night. Aijilynn Jenkin added 10 and Ireland Sargent chipped in 5. No stats are available for the Trojans. The 0-3 Trojans will host a 2-1 Ottumwa Bulldog team tomorrow on Dan Brean Court. 

The Trojan Boys also dropped their game Friday to Ft Madison 77-48. The Trojans were led by Riley Perkins who had 14 pts, and 7 rebounds, Sam Weaton added 13 along with 5 rebounds and a steal.  Eli Zillman had 6 boards and a block. The Trojans shot just 28% from inside the arc, but made 5 of 15 three pointers. Compared to Ft Madisons nearly 55%.  The boys who are 1-2 on the young season will host a 1-0 Ottumwa team tomorrow. 

Pekin girls got a big win Friday with a 51–40 victory over Winfield Mount Union. The Panthers were led by a huge night from Anna Hadley, the sophomore had 25 points to go along with 17 rebounds including 12 offensive. Abby Guise and Alex Parsons each added 10 points. The 2-2 Panthers will host Columbus Tuesday. 

The Pekin boys dropped their game 55-37 to the Wolves Friday. No Stats are available. They will also be hosting WMU tomorrow night. 

Today Pekin Girls Wrestling hosts a meet that includes Cardinal, Albia Eddyville Blakesburg as well as 10 other schools. Matches begin at 2.  

The Van Buren Girls lost to Burlington Notre Dame Friday 55-32. The Warriors were led by Ivy Davison who had 10 pts and 7 rebounds, Sophia Jirak had 6 pts and 6 boards and Addison Brauns had 5 points. The Warriors will host West Burlington tomorrow. 

The Van Buren Boys Lost their game to Notre Dame 72-32. No Stats are available. 

Cardinal Girls split two games over the weekend. Friday dropping a 68-28 matchup vs Knoxville. Emma Becker had 10 points for the Comets while Alex Bissel added 9.

The Comets bounced back Saturday with a 46-31 win over Moravia,no stats available. The 2-1 Comets travel to Centerville Tuesday night. 

The Comet Boys were smothered Friday by Knoxville 89-24. No stats are available. The Comets are off till Friday when they go to EBF.
