Second day wrestling results from the State Tournament in Des Moines

Fairfield’s 106 pounder Cale McCabe is still in the hunt for a podium spot as he used a 1st period takedown and a 3rd period escape to earn a spot in the semifinals. McCabe outlasted Coy Mahlert of Union Laporte City 3-2. He is now set to wrestle Urijah Courter of Collins to reach the finals

The Meet is over for Dain Burkhart at 175 after he lost a 75 decision to Watson Krob of Mt Vernon,

At 190, Trojan Carter Moore fell behind early in his consolation match going into  the 3rd down 7-0, but eventually falling to pin at the 2:37 mark of the 3rd to end his state trip and at 215 Drea Smithburg dropped a 6-2 decision to Ashtin Willms of Clarion Goldfield

Cason Miller is still set to wrestle in the consolations this morning at 157 pounds

Cardinal’s Sr  Issac miller is set to wrestle Aiden McFadden of Baxter at 285 in the consolation round.

Pekins 106 pounder is also in the consolation round and is set to wrestle Kingston Carrington of Baxter.
