The high school basketball season hit full stride Monday night with a number of area teams in action. On the girls side it was Cardinal over Van Buren 48-41. Sigourney topped Moravia 55-21, Holy Trinity doubled upped over WACO 62-31. It was Burlington over Danville 62-41 and Ottumwa beat Mt Pleasant 52-29.
On the boys schedule, Cardinal won a close one over Van Buren 62-61, Cedar Rapids Washington over Mt Pleasant 68-57 and Holy Trinity 59 WACO 50
