Washington Mayor To Appear In Court Next Friday After Sexual Assault Allegations

Jaron Rosien, the mayor of Washington, is scheduled to appear in court next Friday due to allegations of third-degree sexual abuse that took place in his bar in late January. At the arraignment, Rosien’s charges will be listed and he will have an opportunity to enter a plea. If Rosien pleads innocent, Judge Joel Yates will set his court date, which Iowa law mandates must be held within 90 days, barring a waiver of his right to a speedy trial. Iowa Assistant Attorney General Maureen Hughes has been selected as the prosecutor for the case.
