Jefferson County’s unemployment rate dropped from 4.4% in March down to 3.8% in April as rates dropped across the board in our listening area.
Davis County went from 3.5% to 2.8%, Henry from 4.1% to 3.7%. Keokuk County was a full percentage point lower going from 4.8% to 3.8%.
Van Buren County dropped down to 3.3% from 3.9%. Wapello County went from 4.9% to 4.4% and Washington County dropped a full point from 4.2 to 3.2%.
Statewide the rate increased slightly from 3.7% in March to 3.8% in April, the same nationally going from 6 to 6.1%.
