Trojans Track and Field Open Season at Wartburg

The Fairfield boys and girls track and field teams had their first meet of the year at an indoor meet at Wartburg College on Monday. On the girls’ side, Fairfield saw Caroline Van Pelt finish 8th and Addison Ferrel placed 9th in the 800 meter run. Mackenzie Kraemer finished 11th in the 1500 meter run. Carline Van Pelt took 7th in the 3,000 meter run. The girls 4×800 meter relay team of Addison Ferrel, Alyia Abbott, Grace Lyon and Bailey Belzer placed 6th. 

On the boys side, Aiden Lyons took first in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.63 seconds, while Tallon Bates finished 8th. The boys 4×800 relay team of Dylan Adam, Ben Boatright, Riley Perkins and Dallen Rippey took fifth place. Caden Allison took 12th in shot put. In the high jump, Ryan Giberson took second place and Eli Zillman took 5th.
