Trials Delayed For Southeast Iowa Men Accused Of Helping Plot Bank Robberies

The trials for two Southeast Iowa men accused of helping assist in a pair of bank robberies in the summer of 2018 has been pushed back until December. Ross Thornton of Hedrick and Jordan Crawford of Mount Pleasant  are accused of plotting with Ethan Spray of Ottumwa to rob the Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Packwood and the South Ottumwa Savings bank in Hedrick. Each man faces a count of aiding and abetting first degree robbery, a class “B” felony. Both men also served time for robbing the exact same bank in Packwood back in 2007. Both men are expected to be tried separately.
