State Will Allocate Vaccines Based On County Population, Washington County Reports 32nd Death

It was announced on Tuesday that The Iowa Department of Public Health will be allocating vaccinations to counties based on county population. Locally, Jefferson County Public Health has met the current demand of Phase 1A eligible individuals. Currently, the plan is to move forward with Phase 1B the first of February. JCPH continues to wait for further guidance and Phase 1B sub-group prioritization.

Also on Tuesday 5 of the 7 Counties in our listening area reported 5 new Covid cases each. Those Counties are Jefferson, Keokuk, Van Buren, Wapello and Washington, who reported their 32nd Covid related death. Henry County was up 4 cases, with no new activity in Davis County.
