State To Receive 5% Vaccine Allocation Increase, Estle Hopes Local Allocations Increase If Not Stabilize

It was announced on Wednesday that States will be receiving a 5 percent vaccine allocation increase beginning with the next round of shipments, raising Iowa’s allocation to 49,900 total doses.

Locally Jefferson County Public Health Administrator Chris Estle has lobbied strongly to the state in effort to get more vaccines allocated if not stabilized. The County has been receiving on average around  300 doses, which they in turn share with their community partners, however that number has been known to fluctuate.

Jefferson County is the ONLY agency receiving vaccines in the county which also includes 3 School Districts who they are charged with providing vaccination clinics to.
