Spray Has New Court Date, Trial Of Accused Accomplice To Start Next Week

A plea hearing that was postponed on Monday for a Southeast Iowa man accused of robbing a pair of banks in the summer of 2018 is now expected to take place on November 5th in a Jefferson County court. Ethan Spray of Ottumwa is accused of robbing the Pilot Grove savings bank in Packwood at gunpoint. He is also accused of robbing the South Ottumwa Savings Bank branch in Hedrick as well. Spray is facing first degree robbery charges in each case. One of his accused accomplices in the Packwood robbery, Jordan Crawford of Mount Pleasant appeared in a Jefferson County court on Thursday Morning for a pre-trial conference. The conference was intended to clear up evidentiary issues, with that now cleared up, his trial will move forward starting next Tuesday(Oct 22nd.)
