Runners from Fairfield, Pekin and Cardinal Compete at Iowa State Indoor Track Meet
The Fairfield, Pekin and Cardinal boys track and field teams traveled to Ames on Friday for an indoor meet at Iowa State University. Fairfield was in Class 3A, Ben Boatright placed 19th and Dallen Rippey finished 24th in the 800 meter run, Gabe Tejada and Nate Konczl placed 25 and 26 in the 1600 meter run, Riley Perkins finished 17th in the 3,200 meter run. The 4×100 meter relay team of Tallon Bates, Aiden Kreuter, Ryan Higgins and Kevin Dorothy took 14th, the 4×800 meter relay team of Ben Boatright, Riley Perkins, Dayton Mauck and Dallen Rippey took 7th, The sprint medley team of Tallon Bates, Aidan Kreuter, Ryan Higgins and Dylan Adam placed 17th, the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdles team of Kevin Dorothy, Ryan Giberson, Ian Aplara and Dylan Adam placed eighth. In the field events, Caden Allison took 25th in shotput, Ryan Giberson took second place in the high jump at five feet and eleven inches, Eli Zillman took 14th. Zillman took 20th in the Long Jump as well.
The Cardinal Comets ran in Class 2A. Gavin Van Veen tok 13th in the 800 meter run. The Comets 4×100 meter relay team of Bradly Snook, Montana Rupe, Ty McIntosh and Isaac Lett placed 17th, the 4×400 meter relay team of Isaac Lett, Nicholas Walker, Montana Rupe and Gavin Van Veen took 15th and the Sprint medley team of Isaac Lett, Bradly Snook, Nicholas Walker and Gavin Van Veen took 12th. Alec Rachford placed 5th in the shot put, Ty McIntosh placed 23rd in the high jump and Jules Bois took 25th in the long jump.
The Pekin boys ran in Class 1A. Cole Millikin took 19th in the 1600 meter run, Brady mcWhirter was second in the 3200 meter run, while Ben Guise took 16th, the 4×100 meter realy team of Sven Dahlstrom, Kasey Davis, Nolan Glick and Riley Smith took 17th, the 4×400 meter relay team of Jaedon Wolver, Robert Brown, Kyler Dickey and Will Adam took 14th, the Panthers 4×800 meter relay team of Nolan Glick, Ben Guise, Robert Brown and Cole Millikin took tenth place, the Sprint medley team of Jaedon Wolver, Brady McWhirter, Nolan Glick and Sven Dahlstrom took seventh, as did the 4×110 meter shuttle hurdle team of Jaedon Wolver, Sven Dahlstrom Kyler dickey and Will Adam. In the field events, Caden Bender took 13th in shot put, Jaedon Wolver finished 10th in the high jump and Robert Brown was 13th in the long jump.
