On March 2nd residents of the Cardinal, Ottumwa and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont School Districts will have the opportunity to vote on a 10 year levy in hopes that the measure, if passed, would improve school buildings, technology and transportation. If voters pass the levy, residents would then pay $1.34 per $1,000 assessed value for 10 years beginning in 2022.
Two school board vacancies at Cardinal and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont need to be filled, as this will appear on the ballot as well, although Candidates have yet to be announced.
The deadline to submit an absentee ballot request form is next Friday Feb. 19th. Mailed absentee ballots must be postmarked by midnight, March 1st, the day prior to the election.
