Residents Advised To Avoid Contact With Crow Creek As Result Of Sanitary Sewer Overflow

The City of Fairfield wastewater treatment facility discovered a sanitary sewer overflow at approximately 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday. The overflow is due to a collapsed pipe around 120 feet from north b street near the b street entrance to MIU campus. The leak is still ongoing currently and a repair crew is in route. Water samples have been taken and are being processed but we advise residents to avoid contact with crow creek downstream of the campus until after the repairs are made.
