The 2021 Legislative session begins Monday January 11th. It was announced recently that Joe Mitchell Republican of Mount Pleasant and State representative of House District 84 was elected an Assistant Majority Leader by his peers in advance of the session.
House Speaker Pat Grassley Republican of New Hartford said in a release that “Mitchell is a young leader who will help House Republicans accomplish our priorities. I know he will be an asset to our caucus as we head into the legislative session,”
Mitchell has previously served as Vice Chairman of the Ways and Means and State Government committees. District 84 covers parts of Jefferson, Henry, Washington and Lee Counties in Southeast Iowa.
