Regional Volleyball Rundown

19-11 Fairfield kicks off 3A Region 8 Volleyball Quarterfinals tonight with a 7:00 matchup with 12-22 Davis County in the Trojan gym. The Trojans have been led all year by Sr. Maddie Jones with 597 assists, Jr. Lilly Bergren has 201 Kills, Sr. Rowan Terrell 65 blocks and Sr. Savannah Hollander 289 Digs.    

The Mustangs, who have won 4 of their last 5 matches are also led by a senior strong squad including Sr. Reese Humphrey with 347 Assists and Sr Sydney Utt with 214 Digs.  

Winner of that match will face the winner of Davenport Assumption and Washington on Wednesday in Davenport. 

In 2A, Central Decatur ended the Cardinal Comets season last night with a 3-0 win. The Cardinals has wins of 25/17 – 25/21 – 25/20. The Comets ended the season with a record of 8-17 Central Decatur no will face West Burlington on Wednesday. 

In Class 1A Pekin’s season ended after losing its regional matchup with Moravia. The Mohawks has wins of 28/25 – 25/17 – 25/22. Pekin ends its season at 4-19. Moravia will now face #13 West Burlington who beat New London in straight sets last night.
