A plea hearing that was postponed once again on Tuesday for a Southeast Iowa man accused of robbing a pair of banks in the summer of 2018 is now expected to take place on January 21st of 2020 in a Jefferson County Court. Ethan Spray of Ottumwa is accused of robbing the Pilot Grove savings bank in Packwood at gunpoint. He is also accused of robbing the South Ottumwa Savings Bank branch in Hedrick as well. Spray is facing first degree robbery charges in each case. Late last month one of his accused accomplices in the Packwood robbery, Jordan Crawford of Mount Pleasant was convicted of aiding and abetting in the first degree and ongoing criminal conduct. He remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail pending sentencing. Each count carries a maximum term of 25 years, which could run concurrent to each other, for a maximum possible sentence of 50 years.
