An Ottumwa man is accused of being in possession of stolen property for the third time in less than a year. On Thursday Ottumwa police searched the home of 26 year old Joshua Sprague in the 100 block of Lincoln Ave recovered what they say is approximately $1,500 in stolen items. Authorities say that 36 year old Robert Hoxsey also of Ottumwa covered for Sprague as he hid in the attic. Both men were arrested, Hoxsey for accessory after the fact which he has already pled guilty to and Sprague for possession of stolen property and interference with official acts. Sprague posted bond and waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Authorities claim that he was also in possession of stolen property in both March and June of 2019. A pre-trial conference in the June incident where he was found to be in possession of a stolen go-kart, ATV and motorcycle is set for February 17th.
