Names of those involved in a 2 vehicle crash Thursday morning in Fairfield have been released. Around 6:50am 30 year old Nicholas Wallace of Fairfield was traveling eastbound on Burlington Avenue when he approached the intersection of Burlington Ave and South 32nd Street.
At that time, 83 year old Harold Farrier also of Fairfield, who had been stopped at South 32nd heading Northbound failed to Yield Right of Way, entered the intersection and was broadsided by Wallace. The impact knocked both vehicles into separate nearby ditches.
Farrier was extricated from his vehicle by the Fairfield Fire Department and transported to the Jefferson County Health Center by Care Ambulance with what has been described as minor injuries.
Farrier was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way. Wallace was cited for Driving Under Suspension and failure to provide proof of insurance.
The Fairfield Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were also both present at the scene.
