Mt. Pleasant Man Accused Of Assisting In Bank Robbery Found Guilty

On Monday morning a Jefferson County jury returned verdicts of Guilty against Jordan Crawford of Mt. Pleasant, the man accused of assisting in the robbery of the Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Packwood back in the summer of 2018. Crawford was convicted of aiding and abetting in the first degree and ongoing criminal conduct. Evidence was presented to the jury indicating he assisted in the planning of the robbery, coordinated with others during the commission of the robbery, and assisted in the destruction of evidence after the robbery was completed.

The Ongoing Criminal Conduct charge was related to Crawford’s role in using proceeds and illicit funds, specifically, a theft from an atm in Brighton just days prior to the bank robbery in order to finance an interstate drug trafficking scheme. He will be held in custody at the Jefferson County Jail pending sentencing. Each count carries a maximum term of 25 years, which could run concurrent to each other, for a maximum possible sentence of 50 years.
