A Mount Pleasant man charged in a 2019 drug and weapons investigation has been ordered to serve nearly 12 years behind bars. 32 year old Robert Dean Stagers of Mount Pleasant was charged last year with conspiracy to distribute meth and possession of firearms while participating in drug trafficking.
Authorities executed a search warrant at Stagers home, where a safe containing 132 grams of meth and seven loaded guns were discovered. A search of his vehicle led to police locating several other firearms. Stagers later admitted to carrying the weapons during the drug trafficking crime. As part of his sentence, he was also ordered to serve five years of supervised release and pay $200 to the Crime Victims Fund.
