A Mount Pleasant Man was taken into custody following a pursuit with Henry County Sheriff’s deputies just before 2pm Wednesday afternoon in Mount Pleasant.
The incident began in the 1700 block of South Iris Street when authorities attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by an individual known to have active warrants. The subject later identified as 49 year old Michael Anthony Earp of Mount Pleasant refused to stop and fled before losing control of the vehicle a short time later. Earp exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot before being apprehended.
He has been charged with driving under suspension, other simple misdemeanors, possession of meth with intent to deliver, class C felony, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony and carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor. Earp was being held on $15,000 bond.
