The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County would like to remind those with school-age children that their summertime LOAF Program starts this coming Tuesday, June 1st. Each week during summer break, eligible families can receive a bag of kid-friendly foods and a small Hy-Vee voucher along with their Weekly Bread order. The Program is designed to help feed school-age kids when school breakfasts and lunches aren’t as available. Food donations are always welcome, however the Hy-Vee Vouchers do require cash for those wishing to donate. Last summer 376 LOAF orders and vouchers were distributed. It was also mentioned earlier this week that the Fairfield Community School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program.
