The Lord’s Cupboard is trying to get back to serving clients five days per week, but will need help from the community to make that happen. At this time, the plan is to reopen the lobby to clients soon, with masks required and with a plexiglass divider in place. The Lord’s Cupboard needs five new Weekly Cupboard Volunteers; these are helpers who sign up to work the same day and time every week. There are shifts open for weekly volunteers on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons.
Volunteering at The Lord’s Cupboard is a fun, varied job, and applicants must be able to lift 25 pounds and be on their feet for up to three hours. For more information and to download the application, please visit the website at www.lordscupboard.org
The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County is the county’s emergency food pantry and distributes about 600 food orders per month. Nearly half of those served by the pantry are under the age of 18.
