Jefferson County Public Health announced on Thursday that all 500 allocated doses have been administered or are scheduled to be administered to the Phase 1A priority group by the end of this week. JCPH is set to receive a vaccine allocation next week and will begin Phase 1B distribution as soon as the IDPH approves Counties to move forward. The County will once again be receiving the Moderna vaccine, as it does not require ultra-cold storage. Once a multi-dose vial of Moderna vaccine is opened, it must be administered within 6 hours. Those vials contain 10-11 doses, which are all administered within those 6 hours to ensure zero waste.
On Thursday Jefferson County reported 8 new cases. Other Counties in the listening area had Wapello with 29, Henry 23, Washington 22, Keokuk 5, Van Buren 2 and Davis with 1.
