Iowa’s December Unemployment Statistics

Iowa’s Unemployment Statistics for December of 2022 has been released. According to statistics, compiled by Iowa Workforce Development, the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at  3.1 percent in December, while the labor force participation decreased slightly to 67.6% losing 2,600 jobs around the state.

In southeast Iowa unemployment percentages mostly stayed the same when compared to November, with Washington County holding steady at 2.4%, Henry County 2.9%, Van Buren County 2.7%, and Jefferson County rising to 2.5% from 2.4% in November. Wapello County was again the only regional county with unemployment higher than the state with 3.3% unemployment.
