A former Fairfield man who received a 10 year suspended prison sentence for molesting a toddler in 2016 has been taken into custody once again on an outstanding warrant for violating his probation. 24 year old Kraigen Grooms, formerly of Fairfield and now of Drakesville was arrested late Thursday night in Wapello County.
His past probation violations include failure to maintain employment and keep current information in the sex offender registry.
Most recently he had been ordered to a halfway house in Burlington by Wapello County Judge Lucy Gammon, ignoring the plea of County prosecutor Rueban Neff who requested Grooms suspended sentence be reinstated.
He was originally arrested in 2014 after a video of the abuse surfaced on child pornography websites.
He was originally charged with second-degree sexual abuse, after that charge was dropped, he pled guilty to a count of lascivious acts with a child. That agreement led to harsh criticism of former Wapello County Attorney Gary Oldenburger.
It remains to be seen whether or not he faces serious time as a result of the most recent violation.
