Despite the recent wet weather Fairfield’s Step 2 sanitary sewer conveyance project that includes sanitary sewer construction from Lamson Woods, following Crow Creek, to MIU is nearing completion. A majority of the new pipe is installed, with tie-ins and lateral connections remaining with Cleaning, televising and lining of the sanitary sewer continuing. The intersection of Broadway Avenue and Forest Drive is open, but will remain gravel until Forest is paved later this year.
The work may not meet the substantial completion date of June 10th due to the weather, but after accounting for rain delays, Maxwell will still be within contract limits. With the seeding window dwindling, much of the seeding will need to occur this fall. The next phase of sanitary sewer work will include upgrades to the grease lightning lift station and the force main. McClure Engineering Company has been selected to design the work and has prepared an engineering agreement. The City is also working with Pathfinders to complete a USDA application.
