Fairfield Volleyball Falls To Fort Madison And Keokuk But Take Down Washington In The First Night Of The Southeast Conference Tournament Tuesday Night

Tuesday night, the Fairfield Trojans Volleyball team went 1-2 in the first night of their conference tournament. The Trojans fell to Fort Madison and Keokuk two sets to none each, however the Trojans defeated Washington two sets to one.

Against Fort Madison, Macy Rayburn was the kill leader for the Trojans with four kills. Anna Dunlap was just behind her with three. Mallory Lyon and Maggie Rayburn had two and Brynley Allison, Sarah McAvan and Savannah Hollander each had a kill as well. The Trojans were successful on 93.3% of their serves with Hannah Bergren picking up the lone ace in the match. Defensively, Kiya Robertson was huge as she had 15 of the Trojans’ 39 digs in the match.

In the win against Washington, Macy Rayburn was the kills leader with six. Maya Lane was right behind her with five, followed by Anna Dunlap and Mallory Lyon with four, Brynley Allison had two kills and Savannah Hollander and Maggie Rayburn each had a kill as well in the match. Maddie Jones was the main setter for the Trojans as she had 12 assists. Jones, along with Kiya Robertson, led the team in aces with three. Maya Lane, Hannah Bergren and Lilly Bergren each added an ace with the team having a 90% success rate on their serves. On the defensive side, Kiya Robertson led the Trojans with 14 digs in the match.

During the loss against Keokuk, Mallory Lyon was the kills leader with five. Close behind her was Maya Lane with four, Macy Rayburn with three, Anna Dunlap had two kills and Brynley Allison and Maggie Rayburn each had a kill as well. Savannah Hollander had four aces on the serving side with Maddie Jones just behind her with three aces as the Trojans were successful on 80% of their serves against the Chiefs. Anna Dunlap and Kiya Robertson each led the team in digs with four, followed by Lily Bergren, Macy Rayburn and Maddie Jones with two and Maya Lane, Savannah Hollander, Maggie Rayburn, Hannah Bergren and Sydney Wells each had a dig in the match.
