Fairfield Opens FB Season with 38-14 Win Over Mt Pleasant

The Fairfield Trojans started off the season with a 38-14 win over Mt Pleasant Friday night. Fairfield got the night started early when at the 3:33 mark of the 1st quarter Casen Miller broke through for a score,

Mt pleasant responded by returning the ensuing kickoff to tie game at 7

The Trojans got the ball back at the 6:45 mark of the quarter at the 10 yard line thanks to a Panther turnover, the promptly scored on a Luke Konczol 6 yard TD run at 1:48 mark.

Mt Pleasant got a score inside the 1 min mark of the 1st half, making it 21-14 Trojans

 

In the 3rd quarter things got chippy, when Fairfield returned a punt for a touchdown, but the play was called back due to a block in the back penalty, which Trojan Nate Weaton to exception to. Officials then threw a flag against the Trojan bench and was ejected.

The Trojans stretched their lead to 28-14 on a td run by Quarterback Landon Nordurft at the 14:55 mark of the 4th quarter.

FF wrapped up scoring with a pick 6 by Talon Bates with 1:31 to go to make it 38-14

State leaders for Fairfield were Casen Miller with 235 yards on 25 attempts, Collin Moore was 5 for 5 on PAT’s and added a Field goal. And Landon Nodurft was 1 of 4 passing.

Fairfield will host Ft Madison this Friday, who topped Burlington 15-12 Friday night.
