A Fairfield man is facing serious charges after he reportedly entered an Ottumwa residence without consent and sexually assaulted a female victim. Authorities say on May 5th around 10:00am 32 year old Wilfredo Alvarez of Fairfield entered the home on Hobson Street and forced the woman into a sexual act. It is also alleged that upon exiting the home he threatened to kill the victim if she attempted to contact police.
Alvarez was taken into custody a short time later and charged with first-degree burglary, which is a Class B felony, third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony and first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
He was taken to the Wapello County Jail and held on a $35,000 bond. In addition, a no contact order was also filed.
