Fairfield CSD Purchases New Security System

Monday night, the Fairfield School Board approved the purchase of a new security system for $32,000.

This new system, called Verkada, will be put inside all 4 of Fairfield’s school buildings where it will require visitors as well as vendors to sign in using a tablet. When you first sign in, you will be asked to put in your phone number, then you will be prompted with a few questions and asked to scan your ID. Once you scan your ID your name will be searched for through the National Sex Offender registry and cross-checked to see if you are not allowed to pick up your child if you are in a battle for child custody.

This system will immediately notify the office when someone signs in and will also serve as a way to let the office know if there are extra people inside of the building in case of an emergency.

This system will be placed at the main door of the Fairfield High School and will be placed inside the office of the other buildings until a proper entrance can be constructed.
