Fairfield Earth Day POPFEST

This Earth Day, on Saturday April 22, the Southeast Iowa Sierra Club and its youth partners are hosting a free Protect Our Planet (POP) Festival at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds from 11 am to 7 pm. The festival will feature food, games, music, learning, demonstrations, vendors, giveaways, and even some dancing — all in the spirit of fostering action to combat climate change on a personal, community and global level.

We’re excited about our next generation of earth advocates! Two high school students (one each from Fairfield High and Maharishi School) sit on our board, and MIU students are interns with our Sierra Club Group. These collaborations have been so fruitful that the students have taken the reins and are the drivers of this first POP fest USA 2023, themed Regeneration This Generation.
