Covid Relief Funds Help Supervisors Stay Within 2% Allowable Growth

The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors, like many other boards around this time, acknowledged on Monday the struggle of attempting to stay within a 2% allowable growth as they attempt to get the FY22 Budget finalized. Supervisor Dee Sandquist said that the Board was approximately $27K from being right within that 2%. The Board was provided a financial boost in the amount of $136K of Covid relief funding from the State. Sandquist said the Board will create a line item for the funds which must be used for Covid related expenses incurred, however she said there is no timeline the Board must adhere to and the guidelines are not as restricted as some past relief funds have been making the process a simpler one for the Board.
