While positive cases have continued to rise in Jefferson County, one of the hopes was that the local healthcare facilities would not be overwhelmed with patients hospitalized. The active case total in the County was at 326 on Wednesday, 25 more were added Thursday, however it’s the hospitalization figure that stands out. That number increased by 10 up to 16, tied with Henry County for the most in our listening area.
Also on Thursday, Keokuk County reported another death, their 2nd in as many days, the County total now stands at 5. Other case totals from around the area include Washington County with 33, Henry County 28, Wapello County 26, Keokuk county 18, Davis county 14 and Van Buren County 6. The death in Keokuk County was one of 38 from around the State, that number rising to 2,102.
