Committee Hears From Downtown Business Owners In Favor Of 2 Way Restoration, Taking Recommendations To Full Council

At Monday night’s Fairfield Public Safety and Transportation Committee meeting, the committee heard from several downtown business owners who are in favor of the two-way restoration project, who believe enhancing accessibility will help them grow Local Option Sales Tax funds. After deliberating the pros and cons of the project and the committee’s role in the upcoming LOST funds allocation council vote, the committee voted that they will make a recommendation to the full City council that they move to develop a more comprehensive plan for downtown traffic, including pedestrian traffic, to eliminate one-way streets. KMCD/Classic 96 will keep you updated on any further developments, including any news that may come from next week’s City Council meeting.
