Fairfield Arts and Convention Center (FACC) is pleased to announce the addition of Mendy McAdams as Development Director. She will lead the non-profit’s fundraising and donor relations efforts. The FACC is Southeastern Iowa’s most prestigious multi-use meeting and entertainment complex, positioned across from the historic Jefferson County Courthouse. The city shows that fill the first class venue are the same seen in many big cities including Chicago, Kansas City and others. Unlike those metropolitan areas, the FACC offers the same quality at a small town price. Patrons can get the “best of both worlds” without having to leave town. Prior to joining the FACC, McAdams was the Marketing and Development Director at Tenco. While at the non-profit that works with individuals with special needs, she was an integral part of the management team. She led fundraising and donor relations efforts, was co-chair of the Tenco Golf Classic, created and maintained the website and social media for the organization, and designed all materials. McAdams also
comes with background in direct marketing and media relations, having been a newspaper editor previously.
McAdams brings an enthusiastic and outgoing attitude that is felt as soon as one interacts with her. Her expertise in marketing and development will be utilized to help share the community and cultural events taking place at the FACC as well as ensure a lifetime of affordable art and culture for the community it serves. “Many aspects of operating and maintaining such a facility require the generous support of friends and donors. Engaging and appreciating these benefactors will ensure that there is a local cultural destination
affordable to all.” Said McAdams. “From the minute I entered The Center, I knew I was somewhere special,” McAdams continued. “Beautiful quilts hanging from the second floor. Art adorning the walls. Stained glass honoring Parsons College. Smells of amazing food and smiles on the faces of those enjoying an art class warm my heart. I am so lucky to be able to be a part of this unique cultural destination.”
On Friday, November 22, join Mendy, FACC Board members and staff in an open house: “Meet and Mingle” from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. This event will give all who attend an opportunity to have a full access VIP tour of the entire facility including backstage. Learn about the history, updates, and future as well as learn about the way the show happens. Homemade desserts, silent auction items and much more await you at this free event that is open to the public. The FACC offers unforgettable shows that attract a wide range of audiences. In addition to its popular Artist Series, the facility offers areas for meetings, weddings, events, and more. Over 500,000 people have enjoyed facility in one way or another.
