Cohen Stepping Down After 8 Years At The Lord’s Cupboard, Search For New Executive Director Underway

The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County is accepting applications immediately for the position of Executive Director. This is a part-time paid position, and more information can be found by
visiting the organization’s website at www.LordsCupboard.org. Applications are due by 4:00pm on Monday, April 12th, 2021.

Laura Cohen, the Executive Director since 2013, is moving to the Chicago area to be closer to family. Cohen said “It will be hard to leave The Lord’s Cupboard behind after eight years. The clients, the volunteers, and the Board of Directors have been wonderful. To find a part-time position where I could really make a difference in the community has been such a gift.”

The Lord’s Cupboard of Jefferson County is the Emergency Food Pantry for the county, located at 303 N. 4th Street in Fairfield. The food pantry can help low-income residents of Jefferson County restock their food supplies when a little extra help is needed. With Covid-19 cases still very present in Iowa, The Lord’s Cupboard continues to serve masked clients in a no-contact manner, by appointment. Donations of food (within date!) are always accepted at The Lord’s Cupboard, 303 North 4th Street in Fairfield. The food pantry is currently open and serving on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons.
