Carnegie Museum Creates Display in Storefront

The Carnegie Historical Museum has announced a new military display at Jefferson County Real Estate office on the west side of the square. This display is filled with items given to the museum by local families, to honor our military during the month of May and into the summer. Objects on display include a 49-star United States flag, a German metal helmet, aviation goggles, a model of the P47 Thunderbolt plane flown by Lt. Robert Phillips, and a Welcome Home button the city of Fairfield created for its veterans returning from World War I and uniforms representing the various service branches. A full look at Jefferson counties military history can be seen at the Carnegie Museum  12:00 noon till 4:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Saturday from 11:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.
