The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Monday morning where they approved the FY22 budget in the amount of $16,820,335. Supervisor Dee Sandquist said that the board worked really hard to stay within the allowable growth and overcome some last minute insurance increases as part of the process.
The board also appointed County Environmental Health Administrator Dan Miller as weed commissioner and approved the reappointment of Karen Crossland to the Judicial Magistrate Appointing Commission.
Temporary safety protocols on certain county owned property was extended until June 1st, however they are expected to revisit the topic sooner as they are somewhat taking the approach as Fairfield Park and Rec, waiting until the 65 and older population in the County have been at least 50% fully vaccinated against the Covid virus.
That process was expedited this past weekend as NuCara Pharmacy closed out their 2 day clinic with 1170 vaccines administered, they were assisted by partners and volunteers from the Jefferson County Health Center, HyVee and Walmart.
