The Jefferson County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Monday morning where they approved an agreement with IDOT for federal aid swap funding for both the Vetch Blvd and Pleasant Plain Road resurfacing projects. The resurfacing will take place North of Cambridge to the new bridge just South of Pleasant Plain and just South of Salina to 4 corners. Supervisor Lee Dimmitt said that the work is expected to begin next construction season depending on when the DOT sets the late start date. The Board already approved the plans that are expected to be let for bid in January of 2020.
Also at the meeting the approved the purchasing of a new heavy duty crew cab truck for the secondary road department. The vehicle will be purchased from Fesler Auto Mall in Fairfield at a price of $41,243. There was already room in the budget for the purchase, which County Engineer Scott Cline said will be the last equipment item purchase for this fiscal year.
