A Bloomfield man is facing charges including a felony related to an alleged assault that took place on North market Street in Ottumwa this past Saturday.
According to authorities 18 year old Devin Lancaster of Bloomfield, upset over a female, confronted the victim, busting out windows of the individual’s vehicle with an aluminum baseball bat before striking them in the head with the bat numerous times.
Lancaster was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of going armed with intent, one misdemeanor count of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and one misdemeanor count of fifth degree criminal mischief. He has pleaded not guilty to each crime and a preliminary hearing is set for Friday. The condition of the victim has not been released.
