Area School Ramp Up for Fall Schedule
Area high schools start ramping up practices this week in anticipation of games starting in the next week. In the Fairfield School District, 7th and 8th grade football camp today through Thursday. Friday is Meet the Trojans with scrimmages of the JV and Varsity squads if Cross Country, Volleyball and Football.
The Cardinal Comets will host their Meet the Players night Thursday. On Tuesday the Comet Volleyball squad will be in Davis County at 5 for scrimmages against the Mustangs as well as Moravia and Albia. On Friday the volleyball team will be at EBF for a scrimmage that includes Centerville, Linville Sully, North Mahaska, Ottumwa and Twin Cedars.
The Van Buren Warriors will be hosting a football scrimmage this Friday against Albia. Bottles of Gatorade will be accepted for admission to the scrimmage. The Warriors will have their first volleyball match next Monday at Waco in a tournament that will also include Pekin.
