An Ottumwa man wanted by authorities on burglary and theft charges stemming from a March incident in rural Wapello County was taken into custody this past Saturday night. Around 7:30pm Ottumwa Police attempted to serve a warrant to 50-year-old Christopher Pfaff, accused of stealing items from a barn a couple of months back. Upon being approached, Pfaff attempted to flee on foot before being captured without exiting the property. A search turned up around nine grams of meth, $300 in cash and a hypodermic needle.
He was taken to the Wapello County Jail where he was charged with third-degree burglary and fifth-degree theft from the March incident. In addition he was charged with possession with intent to deliver meth, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and interference with official acts.
He has waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
