While there have been several programs on the local level that have provided some form of relief to those affected by the Covid pandemic, the majority of those funds have been exhausted. The Iowa Finance Authority is still offering COVID-19 relief options through their Iowa Housing Recovery Program.
There is an Eviction and Foreclosure Prevention Program to help individuals cover rent and mortgage payments, and Residential Utility Disruption Prevention Program, which offers assistance to individuals in paying past due utility bills. Both applications require verification of income and proof of missed, overdue or late payments due to COVID-19. The deadline to apply is Monday November 16th.
