Agency Man Arrested For Parole And Sex Offender Registry violation

An Agency man was arrested last week for a parole and sex offender registry violation. 31 year old Mark Hopwood was taken into custody by Wapello County Deputies after an anonymous tip led them to his home where a minor was residing with him. Deputies concluded that the child was the son of someone that Hopwood had allowed to move in with him. Hopwood is also accused of failing to update relevant information as part of the sex offender registry. Hopwood was convicted back in 2011 for dissemination or exhibition of obscene materials and then in 2012 he was convicted again, this time for lascivious acts with a child. He has waived his preliminary hearing and was released on his own recognizance.
