We reported recently that the City of Brighton will be receiving $173,000 in loans coupled with a $227,000 grant from the USDA. The project aims to add a Submerged Attached Growth Reactor system and related equipment to the wastewater treatment system. The additions will bring the system into compliance with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources standards. The $5M project is expected to be completed before the DNR fall deadline, with customers likely to see no service interruption. The USDA has also provided a $2 million grant and a $2.3 million loan in addition to a $300,000 Community Development Block Grant from the State.
