Jefferson County Looking To Make Upgrades With Donation Funds

Jefferson County has been awarded a donation by the Dakota Access Pipeline in the amount of $20,000. Jefferson County Emergency Management Coordinator Brett Ferrel said that the County plans to use the funds for upgrading equipment on their new tower that is located near the Walton Club and they are also looking to upgrade the communications center with new consoles at the Jefferson County Law Center. Ferrel said that when they received funding in the same amount back in 2017 they were able to train numerous EMT’S throughout the County. Ferrel added that the planned projects must first be board approved.

Keokuk County also received a contribution for the same amount. Their County plans to purchase new equipment for their Emergency Operations Center including a new phone system and incident command supplies. (Photo Courtesy of KCII)
