The Pekin varsity baseball team took a 5 inning 15-4 victory against Wapello Wednesday night, splitting the doubleheader. Kennan Winn finished 3 of 3 including a double and drove in 3 runs. Tanner Bainbridge went 3 of 3 with a double and 2 runs batted in. Quinn Ledger was 2 of 4 and drove in 3 runs. Mason Juhl ended up 2 of 4 with 2 runs batted in. He also got the win, throwing the last 1 2/3 innings, totaled 2 strikeouts, allowed one hit and 2 unearned runs. Starter Caleb Comstock worked 3 and a third innings, fanned 2 batters, gave up one hit and 2 runs, one of them earned.
The Panthers lost the opener 4-2. Bainbridge led the 8 hit offense going 3 of 4. Lathan Weaver went 2 of 3 including a double. Ledger contributed a double. Brady Latcham pitched the 7 innings, had 5 strikeouts, allowed 6 hits and 3 earned runs.
