Dennis Sandifer of Blakesburg who is facing felony charges following an August 2nd head on collision near Blakesburg that left one man dead is now set to face a jury on September 10th in Wapello County. On August 2nd of last year Sandifer was traveling on Wapello-Monroe road when he struck a semi truck head traveling at a high rate of speed in a no passing zone, killing his passenger 29 year old Brandon Pruett of Blakesburg in the process. According to authorities, Sandifer also admitted to being under the influence of meth at the time of the crash. He has been charged with homicide by vehicle, a class b felony and will be represented by a public defender. Allen Cook, who heads up the state public defender’s office in Ottumwa notified courts that he would be representing Sandifer. If convicted he could face up to 25 years in prison.
