Davis County Boys And Pekin Girls Finish 1st At Bloomfield Track Meet

The Dennis Anderson Relays coed track and field competition took place Tuesday. Host Davis County won the boys championship with 128 points. They had wins from Kenny Cronin the 1600 (4:47.04) and 3200 (time not available), Draven DeKraii the 110 meter high hurdles (15.94), Dalton Main the shot put (41-5), the 1600 meter medley (3:55.69) and shuttle hurdle relay (1:05.19). Taking 2nd were Jaxson Sharp the 400 (53.54), Carson Shively the 1600 (4:47.62) and Garl Norman the 110 meter high hurdles (17.37).

Pekin topped the girls division at Bloomfield scoring 160. The Panther wins included Lauren Derscheid the 1500 (5:35.44) and 3000 (12:11.16), Kerrigan Pope the discus (106-4), the 1600 meter medley featuring Zoey Wright, Sophie Wittrock, Sarah Eubanks and Remi Duwa (4:42.12), the 4 by 800 with Maddie Black, Emily Laumeyer, Hollie Loper and R. Duwa (10:36.89), the 4 by 400 of Loper, Eubanks, R. Duwa and Wright and the 800 meter medley made up by Hunter Lock, Wright, Wittrock and Eubanks (2:03.19). Their 2nds came from Ellie Ledger the high jump (4-10), Katie Jones the shot put (32-6), Emi Zook the discus (98-7). Laumeyer the 1500 (5:39.39) and the 4 by 200 of Mackenzie Dahlstrom, Chilynn Sevier, Ledger and Lock (2:02.07).

Other highlights from area schools at Davis County:
Pekin boys 2nd of 12 totaling 111 points. Winning were Brady Millikin the 800 (2:06.82) and 800 meter medley made up by Lathe Crochet, Michael Jones, Dayne Eckley and Cam Millikin (1:41.48). Panther 2nds included Eckley the 100 (11.74) and 200 (24.11), Cole Earnest the 400 meter hurdles (1:01.9), Colten Glosser the 3200 (10:25), Devin Fraise the long jump (19-3 and a half), Quinn Ledger the shot put (41-5), the 4 by 100 of Crochet, C. Millikin, Eckley and Fraise (45.94) and shuttle hurdle relay that featured Crochet, Ledger, Earnest and Fraise (1:07.92).

The host Davis County girls 2nd of 10 scoring 139. Their wins came from Alyssa Shirkey the 100 (13.45) and 200 (27.57), plus Sophie Spargur the 400 (1:04.86) and 800 (2:32.52). Adding 2nds were Olivia Murry the long jump (14-10 and a quarter) and 4 by 100 (53.87).

Van Buren had the 3rd place girls team racking up 122 points. Leading the way with wins were Grace Davidson the long jump (15-7 3/4), 4 by 100 of Isabell Manning, Madi Bartholomew, Chole Davidson and G. Davidson 53.78) plus the 4 by 200 that featured Kadence Nusbaum, Bartholomew and both Davidson twins (1:56.61). They had 2nds from G. Davidson the 100 (14.02), Bartholomew the 200 (29.03), the shuttle hurdle relay made up by Anna Beebe, Cameron Younker, Ella Jirak and Lexi Jirak (1:20.32) and 4 by 800 of Kylee Bass, Codi Welch, Faith Neeley and Audrey Smith (11:35.3).

Fairfield boys shared 4th place with Cardinal, both scoring 77 and a half. They had Landon Kooiker with the high jump (6-2). Finishing 2nd were the 4 by 800 of Dalton Rippey, Dylan Harvey, Alex Forrest and Mark Diers (8:55) and 1600 meter medley made up by Landen Schafer, Blake Metz, Rippey and Diers (4:02.14).

The Comets Trey Albert was first in the long jump (21-1) while the 4 by 200 took 2nd with Colby Aschenbrenner, Jarrett Greiner, Gabe Reyes and Albert (2:55).

Van Buren boys ended up 6th with 65 points. They got 2nds from Caleb Johnson the high jump (5-8) and Hunter Rodibaugh the discus (113-1).

The Cardinal girls finished 8th totaling 38 points. Sydney Pickerell led the way with a 2nd in the 800 (2:37.63).
